Shrimp tacos are a flavorful delight, combining succulent shrimp and vibrant toppings in warm tortillas, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced or mashed
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Additional spices to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse thawed shrimp under cold water and pat dry. Season with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat; add a splash of olive oil. Add seasoned shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from heat and drizzle with fresh lime juice.
  3. In another skillet or on an open flame, warm tortillas for about 30 seconds per side until pliable.
  4. Place shredded cabbage on each tortilla followed by several shrimp. Top with avocado slices or guacamole if desired.
  5. In a small bowl, mix sour cream with lime juice and additional spices to taste. Drizzle this sauce over your tacos.
  6. Serve tacos on plates garnished with extra lime wedges and cilantro if desired.
