Seafood Boil (Shrimp + Crab + Mussels)

Seafood Boil

Dive into this vibrant seafood boil, featuring succulent shrimp, tender crab, and plump mussels, all simmered in a flavorful broth that brings everyone together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 pound crab legs (pre-cooked)
  • 1 pound mussels (live with tightly closed shells)
  • 3 ears corn on the cob (cut into thirds)
  • 1 pound new potatoes (small, scrubbed clean)
  • 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 lemon (cut into wedges)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Rinse shrimp and mussels under cold water. If using frozen seafood, ensure it is thawed. Cut corn into thirds and scrub potatoes clean.
  2. Boil Water: Fill a large pot with water—about two-thirds full—and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Add salt liberally.
  3. Add Potatoes and Corn: Once boiling, add the potatoes first as they take longer to cook. After about five minutes, add the corn pieces.
  4. Season Your Broth: Sprinkle in the Old Bay seasoning and stir well to coat all ingredients.
  5. Add Seafood: After another five minutes, add the shrimp and mussels. Cook for an additional three to four minutes until shrimp are pink and mussels have opened.
  6. Serve With Flair: Carefully drain through a colander and spread out on a newspaper-lined table or large platter. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over everything before serving.
