Ingredients

Chicken Marinade

  • 4 pieces Chicken thighs Bone-in for more flavor
  • 1 cup Buttermilk For marinating chicken
  • 1 tbsp Hot sauce Optional for spice

Breading

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Paprika For flavor
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper

Frying

  • 4 cups Vegetable oil For deep frying

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Frying

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge in flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  • Carefully add chicken pieces to the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • Once cooked, remove chicken and drain on paper towels.

Serving

  • Serve hot, and enjoy with side dishes like Tangy Slaw or in a sandwich.
