Preparation
Cut the chuck roast into bite-sized cubes, trimming excess fat.
Season the beef cubes with salt and black pepper.
Place sliced onions at the bottom of the slow cooker, then layer the seasoned beef cubes on top.
Pour the beef broth over the meat and onions, adding Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until fork-tender.
Scoop out half a cup of cooking liquid, whisk in flour until smooth, then return to slow cooker for 30 minutes on high.
Notes
